New Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Vishnu Deo Sai is a non-controversial tribal leader with excellent organisational abilities

Vishnu Deo Sai, a former Union minister and BJP leader, is expected to take over as Chhattisgarh's next chief minister. Sai, a well-known tribal face of the BJP, will become the next chief minister of Chhattisgarh before the end of the assembly's term on January 3, 2024.

His elevation to the position of chief minister in a state where the tribal population makes up over 32% appears to have been aided by the BJP's overwhelming victory, which included the win of 18 ST seats and the sweep of all 14 Surguja region seats.

Following his appointment, Vishnu Deo Sai declared, with all honesty, I will work for 'Sabka Vishwas' and the promises made to the people of Chhattisgarh under 'Modi Ki Guarantee' will be fulfilled.

The 59-year-old tribal leader will be the second to hold the highest office in the state after Ajit Jogi, who was appointed chief minister immediately after Chhattisgarh was divided from Madhya Pradesh in November 2000. Jogi was elected to the state legislative assembly from the Kunkuri (ST) constituency in North Chhattisgarh.
