Sahara Group Chairman Subrata Roy passed away due to cardiorespiratory arrest

After a protracted illness, Sahara Group CEO Subrata Roy passed away on Tuesday at 10.30 p.m. from cardiorespiratory arrest. Sportsmen, business associates, and political figures all expressed their condolences and acknowledged his contributions to the development of the country. 

Subrata Roy was a prominent Indian businessman who founded Sahara India Pariwar in 1978. The company operated a vast number of businesses such as Aamby Valley City, Sahara Movie Studios, Air Sahara, Uttar Pradesh Wizards, Filmy, among others. In 2012, he was named the tenth-most influential Indian businessmen by India Today. 

Roy's contributions to the nation's growth were acknowledged by political leaders, business associates, and sportspersons. His company, Sahara India Pariwar, has interests in financial services, education, real estate, media, entertainment, tourism, healthcare, and hospitality. Rashtriya Sahara, a Hindi-language newspaper, was founded in 1992. The ambitious Aamby Valley City project near Pune was started in the late 1990s. Sahara TV, subsequently known as Sahara One, debuted in 2000. Sahara launched three weekly publications in 2003: Sahara Aalmi (Urdu), Sahara Samay (Hindi), and Sahara Time (English). 

Roy's death is a great loss to the nation and the business community. His contributions to the growth of the nation and the business world will always be remembered.
